Weekend plans

Tomorrow we're going to the doll exhibit in Tampere. I hope to buy all sorts of fun and/or useful thingies. Hope I won't leave all my money there. :)) It's dangerous, 'cause I know there will be some very tempting dollhouses. I just have to convince myself that I don't need one right now and I also have absolutely no space for it.
We'll see how it goes. :))

Have a great weekend!

Last days of winter

Snow is melting, I already can see some spots of dark ground in the yard.

Niji wanted to go out and check the snow. She was a bit afraid at first... Sitting on the porch, counting snowflakes.

Last days of winter

Sweet Niji

Then she got a bit of courage and went to explore the front of the house.

She looks so cute in her winter outfit by
TTYA!

I'm a big girl

I love this girl!

Niji

I hope we'll have many fun walks together. Waiting for spring...

Meet Niji

In the previous post I showed you the box opening for our newest girl. She has a name now. Please, meet Niji. Niji is a shy sweet girl with great personality. I hope she opens up to us by time.
I chose name Niji as tribute to the girl's past. She used to have very bright and colorful appearance with her previous owner, and I'd like to keep it at least in her name. Niji is a Japanese girl name that means rainbow. And there isn't anything more colorful than rainbow. But it can also be very delicate and subtle, just like my girl. :)

Meet Niji ;)

Oh, those green eyes! They have stolen my heart!
More pictures coming soon!

Have a great weekend!

Box opening: new girl

I'd like to share with you one of the most exciting moments that any person, who loves dolls, can experience. That is, the box opening of a newly arrived doll family member.

In my house it always starts with my unpacking animals gathering around the box and suspiciously sniffing it. Like that:

Then I start opening the box...

I can see my little mummy! :)

She still needs her eyes. Oh, but the face up is absolutely gorgeous!

Shy girl. :)

Shy girl

Here she is - Unoa Lusis hybrid that I adopted from a fellow bjd fan in the UK. Thank you so much, Fee! ;)

The new girl

I had only one wig at home that would fit her, but I think she looks quite cute in it and it fits well with her face-up. :)

Oh, she's such a sweetheart!

Sitting comfy

And one bonus picture from the next morning.

Unoa Lusis

I am so very happy with my girl! She still needs a name, but I have several options in my mind. ;)

Oh, and I'd like to mention that the wig is made by SweetNeat and the beautiful knitted bubble dress is by junipa (both great Finnish artists).

Thank you for sharing this wonderful moment with me!
